The SpaceSUITE project
SpaceSUITE is an ERASMUS+ Blueprint project for the development of innovative resources for education and training to bridge the gap between the supply and demand of skills in the ever growing space downstream sector.
SpaceSUITE (Space downstream Skills development and User uptake through Innovative curricula in Training and Education) is grounded on the SPACE4GEO Large-scale Skills Partnership on Space Data, Services and Application under the Pact for Skills and builds on the success and experience of the Erasmus+ Sector Skills Alliance EO4GEO.
The direct beneficiaries of this action are the 230.000 professionals currently employed by the EU space sector and the downstream sector itself, which accounts for close to 80% of the global space economy.
The main objective of SpaceSUITE is to empower a skilled workforce in the downstream space sector.
This will be achieved by accomplishing the following points:
- Identifying skills gaps and mismatches, and defining a mid- and long-term strategy to bridge the gap between the supply and this continuously changing demand in the downstream space related sectors.
- Designing and delivering new curricula and training programmes for higher education and vocational education and training for the development of advanced skills in space-related fields and the provision of education and training activities.
- Enhancing collaboration, exchange of knowledge and and practises within the downstream space ecosystems.
Implementing “the Blueprint”
Space SUITE is an Erasmus+ Alliance implementing the Blueprint for sectoral cooperation on skills. These Alliances aim to create new strategic approaches and cooperation for concrete skills development in areas implementing a major action of the European Skills Agenda for sustainable competitiveness, social fairness and resilience, the Pact for Skills.
Alliances for Sectoral Cooperation on Skills seek to tackle skills gaps on the labour market that hamper growth, innovation and competitiveness in specific sectors or areas, aiming both at short term interventions and long term strategies.
The project started on 1st January 2024 and will last 4 years
